Spring has come and gone and when I say gone in Texas it leaves in a hurry! We were blessed some nice temps and plenty of rain thru May, of course with our typical spring storms. As June begins you know it's summer as we have already had several days over around 100 heat index and now reaching into the 105-110 range. Just the other day it was 98 in the shade and next 10 days all hovering around 100. Long range forecast not showing much rain, so God is turning off the spigot as I say for us this summer, but as always I am sure we will get what we need if not what we want. So while the garden is hanging in so far, we are busy putting up veggies for the winter and already starting to think about fall. Thankfully we got a lot of ranch chores done early but still plenty to do as we are continually cleaning fence lines, clearing dead tress, and of course enjoying the cows. Speaking of cows, we have had a very successful spring with a full crop of calves. Even had a great surprise this past week with our first red calf, a heifer at that so looking forward to adding this to our line. So it's onto summer activities, watching calves grow, working early and late where possible and taking pool breaks with grandkids in the mid day to cool off and always looking forward to the next surprise as their is always on happening at 3 Heifers and a Bull Ranch!
Hope you all have a wonderful and blessed summer! Mike and Kelley
